In celebration of Nicholas' 18th birthday today, I share my all time favorite picture of him. Quick story: Adam, Nicholas, and I were riding on the four-wheeler in the mountains. Any guesses on who just happened to be following us? You got it: our good friend Barney Fife with the Forest Service. He demanded that Nicholas put on a helmet before we could leave. This blue thing we call a "helmet" is all we had available. Clearly we weren't prepared. What I witnessed next can only be described as an act of Heaven as Nicholas' head and this helmet wrestled with each other for a few minutes before the head was able to prevail.
